Music

Music is an art form and cultural activity whose medium is sound organized in time.

            I want write about top40-charts.com. We have assignment pop Music Webhunt. It was very interesting for me, because I didn’t know which music popular at the moment, I don’t listen music more, just sometime I listen also when I am on the train. And also just certain music which is my favorite. When I look that website, I  found that “shape of you” is popular at the moment, I try listen and I didn’t like its meaning, meaning is like about meeting with lady, and he loved her body. Might be this is not similar with my culture, if I grew up in US, maybe I would like it. And second popular music is “that’s what I like “ Bruno Mars. That song also doesn’t have exact meaning, how I  understood, meaning like suggest to ladies to go trip with him.  I heard most of the top popular musics but I didn’t like it.   

Before I dint know that have many music genres. I learn many genres. We did assignment about genre, like everyone have one genre, mine was Punk genre.   Before I didn't hear about that one, when I looked from internet I couldn't find more information about Punk, mostly source is Punk Rock. I found less information about funk. Punk is fasting moving and loudly music. It is typically produced short or fast-paced song, hard-edged melodies and singing style, stripped-down instrumentation and often political songs.   It is form of Rock, it developed in early to mid-1970s in United State, United Kingdom and Australia. First punk was aggressively modern, dancing itself from the bombast. It is associated subculture.

I don’t like a read text, but we had a text which we should read, I read about “Same old song”, “International House of Blue Foundation” and “the history of Rap music”.  We read about history of Blues music, Blues music is about social condition of African Americans. Story of blues is beginning from Middle Passage. They had a small memory about their homeland and cultural tradition. They faced many difficulties, they lived slave.  I understood that blues music is about important part of their life.

         My topic was Punk genre of Music. Before I didn't hear about that one, when I looked from internet I couldn't find more information about Punk, mostly source is Punk Rock. goose chase

We played goosechase, I did the job with Jeremy. He is from China.  Our teacher gave us mission. Our job was read in goose chase application what we should take picture and download. We went outside in the loop, and we took many kind of picture, all pictures are related with culture. For example, diversity, language, Media, Music,star,trending and etc. We walked in the loop around 1 hour, we saw many thing to take a picture, but we did more than half. For trending we took picture Starbucks's coffee, because that is trend in USA, of course it is also about food, but it is mostly trend. One of the mission was take a picture of a place that you think shows or presents Chicago. We got a picture of bean. People called it bean, but its name is "CLOUD GATE". It is a public sculpture by Indian-born British artist Anish Kapoor, it si placed in Millennium Park. And also the Chicago bean is a impressive bean-like silver structure that is a great place to take memorable vacation snapshots. Why we took that one, because it is only in Chicago, and most of the tourist or guest have a picture from bean, because bean is popular and Chicago's sing. We had many mission, but I want write which one has a meaning. Our mission was show something that a possible problem in the city, the country, the culture of the world. We found homeless person. Of course we couldn't take a picture closely, it is not respectful. We took from far from him. Homeless people are problem of world. Most of the homeless people have a big problem in their life, or they have desease or psychology problem. Why they are problem of world, beacuse this is life is very short, and they spent time at the street. and  to find a food, they can do many thing, like crime; kill people or steal something. This is also a problem of city. When tourist is coming, if all the street homeless people, it is look like very bad. For example when I went to New York,  I saw many many homeless people. I have a bad memory about city, even New York is big and popular city in the world.  Most funny mission was a take picture of something that you think Gitte. We thought to take a Macy's picture, most of the women like a shopping. But we took a picture trees are full of little white flowers. It is very amazing, we hope our teacher also like it.

This is my Pinterest Music board. I don't listening music more, but some times I listen. My favorite music is Imany's song. Name is "you will never know". I like a Imany's voice and song's have little bit meaning.

This song  from a genre that is new to me. When I heard that one was little bit strange. When I watch video, was something funny. when men are dancing  unusual.

This is song from culture that is not my nor US or the UK.  She is a french singer-songwriter who mixes jazzy style, French variety soul and acoustic. This song was famous and my husband like that one. Her name is ZAZ. Song is "Je veux".

This song from parent generation. When my mother heard that one, she is dancing. that's why O chose that one. It is an Uzbek song. And very cheerful music. Song;s name is "Davraka Tush". Singer is Rustam Goipov.

This is song that I feel shows a belief of my generation. Ed Sheeran "Shape of You". Genre of this song also look like our generation and also meaning is bad. Because now just that kind of songs are popular and famous.

Reflection 3

Movies

In this portfolio about just movies. When I learn pop culture in my country, I didn’t learn movies, that’s why it was news for me. Before I didn’t think movies have big role in pop culture. Now we have finished learn about movie. Of course, I got many knowledge about movie, I didn’t know too many genres. I didn’t like to watch films; may be after that I will be interested. We learned history of movies. First motion picture was in 1890s. First animation was 1906, funny faces. Lumiere Brothers did first projection Cinematograph in 1895. Big 6 studios appeared in 1920s. These are; Warner bros, Paramount picture, Columbia picture, Universal picture, Walt Disney Studio and 20^th Century Fox. All the Hollywood Studio, Hollywood film was leisure, luxury and party scene.

We learned genres, genre is type of movies. Main genres are; Action film, adventure, comedy, crime, drama, epics, horror, musical dance, western. I did genre presentation, everybody explained one genre, I explained about spoof, Spoofs is specific type of Comedy, it is similar with; parody, satire, lampoon, farce. It is usually a humorous, imitates (mimics) the style. When I heard spoof, I remember about Charlie Chaplin, he usually acted with mimics in comedy.

We got homework about Movie Industry, we should look big studios websites. When I clicked their website, first impression was just advertising title about movies. Then written about actors and news. We read Tyler Perry’s money machine. Because Perry’s movies make good money than others. How I understood, his movies characters are unsubtle, his humors are broad, and his plots are soaked with melodrama. He shows themes are love, fidelity and the important of family. Perry Tyler’s movies have bid budget; he wants to show African American people also have big money to produce that kind of movie. His movies actors are African American; he shows that African American people are good. 

We got assignment about the movie poster. I did movie poster about love, true love can change people, that’s why I chose title “Love changes a person”, Hero’s name is Maksim, he was working in the office, most time he spent there. He has girlfriend, he doesn’t love her, he thinks no love, love is just respect each other. His life style was classic; his clothes were classic and drove car classic. He usually didn’t walk outside. But one day when he was in train, he got acquainted with one lady, he got other feeling, just he loves. Lady’s hobby is singing at the street; she is a singer in beginner step. He always tried to find her at the street, he started walk outside, he couldn’t work and he thought just about that lady. One day he changed life style, he starts sing at the street with lady, her name is Alla Pugacheva. My spot is like that, I tried do something interesting for my classmate, but I didn’t show yet.

I don't like watch movies, sometimes I watch melodrama not horror. Because when I watched horror film I will scare and I could watch horror film. If I watched any kind of film, I will think bout it. that's why I don't want to watch film. My bumper tricker is "keep calm and don't watch movies". Usually movies are not useful. 

 I learned more about movie, I didn’t interested movies. I mean I didn’t know nothing about movies, now I learn history of movie, bid studios and genres. After that, when I watch film I will look studios and genres. Movies have big role in pop culture, because movies also change every time, they show about people life, that mean movies show popular culture.
